Biography

Born in Ayrshire, on the south-west coast of Scotland, Gordon has been singing and playing his guitar since his early teens.

After leaving school (thankfully!), Gordon became an engineering apprentice which funded his first two loves, mountains & music. Most weekends he would head north with a rucksack on his back and guitar in hand; climbing by day and playing music in the pub at night.

As a lover of both traditional and contemporary folk music, major influences include: Eric Bogle, Christy Moore, Dougie McLean, Dick Gaughan, Nathalie Merchant, Bob Dylan and of course the big yin himself... Billy Connolly.

In 1995 Gordon moved to Apeldoorn in The Netherlands to work as an engineer. Unfortunately, mountains were hard to find. Music, however, wasn’t, and after meeting a few likeminded individuals he formed a duo called Shindig. Although playing regularly with Shindig, he also performed on his own. After a few years of playing gigs in the weekend and working during the week, he decided to become a full-time musician.

He has since been bringing his mix of traditional & contemporary folk music to venues throughout The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia and, of course, Scotland.

Discograpy

In 2002 Gordon recorded his first CD called
'Working Man' which is a collection of ballads and includes his song “Return Again”.
